Here’s a little secret: you don’t need to go on a juice fast or extreme cleanse to DETOX your body. Here’s another secret: you can detox and still chew food! These simple steps will help you cleanse your body in a way that becomes your lifestyle so you won’t need to go to extremes and live on spicy lemonade for three days.

Before we dive into a few daily detoxifying techniques, here are a few warning signs that can help you take better care of yourself.

  1. You are getting sick way too often.
  2. You have uncontrollable cravings.
  3. Your hair and skin are frail and dull.
  4. You are bloated and have digestive issues.
  5. You don’t sleep well.
  6. You find yourself addicted to sweet things.
  7. You are consistently anxious
  8. You have frequent headaches.
  9. You have seen a steady increase in weight gain.

8 Simple Daily Detox Habits:

1. Lemon Water

It’s a great replacement for that caffeine to which so many of us are addicted, and it’s great for you. The lemon alkalizes your pH, which makes your body inhabitable to disease, and stimulates your digestion and liver cleansing function.

2. Eliminate inflammatory foods.

Start by removing artificial sweeteners, soda, sugary beverages, gluten, wheat and high-fructose corn syrup. Then, gradually remove all items containing vegetable oils, soy, sugar, corn, dairy products, table salt, and GMOs, which are the very items making us fat, sick, depressed and miserable. These very items increase toxic load, create serious nutritional deficiencies, leaky gut, digestive dysfunction, inflammation, hormone imbalances, anxiety and more.

3. Oil Pulling

Oil Pulling has been used for thousands of years as a holistic detox remedy. It couldn't be any easier, just put a heaping teaspoon of coconut oil in your mouth, swish around your mouth and between teeth for 10 minutes, then spit it out. There are thousands of bacteria found in the mouth, some healthy and others not so much. The toxic bacteria is a main culprit in plaque buildup, gingivitis, bad breath and cavities.

4. Get some exercise.

Movement is essential for long-term health. Increasing your heart rate and activating your muscles helps to improve your mood, digestion, cell function, and more.

5. Drink organic tea.

Herbal teas and green teas are filled with antioxidants and can help lubricate the intestines for proper bowel movements. Pau‘d Arco tea, Dandelion tea, organic green tea, Mugwort tea and Yogi DeTox tea, are some of my favorite.

6. Use the sauna.

When you submerge your body in hot air, your blood vessels increase in size and this improves the blood flow and therefore improves the transfer of nutrients and waste. That sweat leaving your body is full of toxins.

7. Get Deep Sleep

Your body cleanses itself while you sleep, with the liver doing a lot of its dirty work in the early morning hours. Pulling an all nighter, or even staying up to watch a late night show will put you in a position to miss out on the deeper sleep cycles that occur before midnight.

8. Smoothie It Up

Smoothies are an excellent way to get massive amounts of superfoods into your system without feeling like you’re a rabbit. You can blend up a bunch of baby spinach or kale along with some fruits like strawberries or blueberries and have a great tasting and nutritious shake.
